THE GALLERY AT FIREHOUSE SQUARE will start out the New Year in a simple yet sophisticated way. THE GALLERY consistently displays original watercolor, oil and acrylic paintings year-round, and we will now showcase the endeavors of the other side of the art world. Accomplished printmaker Francis Morey will be exhibiting, in addition to several area printmakers and master draftsman.
A diverse group of images supports our traditional view on local scenes, landscapes and the figure. Artist Fran Morey's prints depict the golden age of classic yacht racing in the early 1900s. Elaine Herman, George Grabel, Roger Beers, Karla M. Tate and Susan Jaworski-Stranc will present linoleum cuts, intaglio, etchings, graphite/pencil drawings & more.
We are still looking for artists to take part in Spring plein air classes, culminating in a group show in October, 2012! The sign-up deadline is Feb. 29, 2012. Please contact Katie Fogg if you are interested in participating.
Classes will be held every Sunday, May 6th through July 8th, including OpSail weekend (July 6-8.) On the last Sunday of each month, the class will partake in a group critique.
